The Unbelievers (2013)

The Unbelievers follows outspoken scientists Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss on a lecture tour devoted to advocating rational thought and atheism.

This documentary attempts to distance itself from the more confrontational musings of its subjects and sticks mainly to the less controversial “think for yourself, make your own mind up” aspect to their argument, leaving the film little more than a series of snippets of positive reinforcement to those who already agree with them rather than challenging entrenched religious dogma and its champions.

This is a clear attempt to present a more “positive” message, but it results in a rather toothless travelogue that desperately avoids any contentiousness and therefore any meaningful debate, making The Unbelievers a polite sermon to the converted that is easily ignored by those who do not wish to listen.
